Last Sunday August 11, 2019 the parish of St. Lawrence in Macao celebrated the parish feast and the installation of new parish priest. During the Sunday mass, Bp. Stephan Lee expressed his thanks and gratitude to the service done by Fr. Jojo and also wished the new parish priest all the best. After 5 years been assistant parish priest, and 5 yrs as parish priest Fr. Jojo is ending his tenure as pastor, and the parish will be administered by Fr. James Lau (from the Clerical Congregation of the Korean Martyrs, BMC). During those 10 years Fr. Jojo assisted in helping St. Lawrence parish in becoming a missionary committed community, especially regarding assistance to those who were left behind during these years of great economic development for Macao.
Although the transition ceremony was celebrated on August 11, Fr. James will start taking care of the parish on September 1, 2019.
Fr. Jojo will remain assigned in Macao and will concentrate in his coordinating labor as Prefect of Apostolate of the East Asia Delegation as well as the animation and accompaniment of the missionary groups “Claret Mission” and “Candlelight”. From Macao he will have opportunity to enhance his commitment with the Claretian Mission in China.
